9/11

Watching all the tribute and remembrance ceremonies of the 9/11 tragedy helped me to reflect of where I was and what I was doing when the planes hit. I recall living in Fargo at the time and arriving to work at Valentino's Restaurant. My boss was watching a small T.V. in the party/side room (which has now been remodeled) watching the breaking news and calling to us to come over. I remember watching in astonishment at the insane and unbelievable tragedy, that the Republicans have begun to "trademark" since then, unfold. It also makes me think of my parents and many of yours talking about the day Elvis died, JFK was shot, or when Lennon was murdered. This is an event that will become something passed on to our children. You know, of where we were and what we were doing when the planes hit.

So, my question to you is:

Where were you and what were you doing when the planes hit the Twin Towers seven years ago?

In Recent News.............................

1. I realized that trying to pound out a decent blog while slightly intoxicated (and I say that loosely), is a bad idea. No matter how appropriate it seems at the time.

2. Russia is close to Alaska, and that makes Palin qualified being a VP candidate.

3. O'Reilly is a hypocrite.

4. If McMarble Mouth McCain gets elected, We are all FUCKED! (And I am moving to Canada, Holland, France, or any other European country with better health care than us.)

5. This moustache Kicks So Much ASS, you could shake a stick at it. Literally!

6. Jennie, Ben & I are planning on being the Tenenbaums. Not sure which character I would portray for Halloween.

7. I got Nothing else.

These go to 11!

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday...................................Sunday..........................Funday!
Actually it kind of sucked until I turned this shit up to 11 and rocked out to a little "Stonehenge" and "Love Pump".

Rage Against The FUCKING Machine!

Can't complain for a Wednesday night, especially during the RNC. Got off work around 5:30ish and met up with Jennie and a co-worker at "the Local" for a drink or two. After the rest of the crew met up with us, we meandered towards "Donovan's" for fish & chips and a pint or two before the show. On the way I noticed more than normal police presence (riot gear and all).

Pictures and words do not explain how "Kick-Ass" this sight was!

This was sight One and Two of the floor crowd from out seats. It looked liked one body in motion during the show. Absolutely Crazy! Such an awesome show to be a part of especially during a historic time in our political history. This one WILL be remembered!

After the show we notice an escalated amount of police "protection" around downtown. At one point, entire sections of bike lanes were blocked off and police in riot gear hassled us from walking down the street that our bikes were locked up on.

The lights you see turning into the "bike lane" our motorcycle police. So, are they above the law?
Last time I checked, I pay taxes here and obey all of your laws. So.........................why am I and my girlfriend being hassled (Man do I wish I had a pic of these clowns) for no reason? Just because the RNC has something going on in ONE part of a SPECIFIC building, I am being hassled? What the FUCK! I have not lived here long, but as far as I am concerned, this is my city and I will be damned if you come into my city and tell me I can not bike certain roads or walk down certain sidewalks. That is were I draw the Fuckin Line!

Long Time Coming

So, it has been one hell of a long time since the last post. Yeah......Yeah.....I know, I suck at life. I was well aware of this years ago. Since the last time, I have gotten a job at Penn cycle, explored the city via two wheels, met plenty of great people. Here is a snap taken by Benji at Freeride III. A new goal of mine is to keep this (finger quotes) Blog (finger quotes) updated as much as possible so that you great fiends out there can be well informed of the hot air that is coming out of my brain.

Cheers and Rock on!

A Week and counting........

It has only been a week and yet so much has happened. I have gotten lost numerous times on my bike but now have a fogy idea of how to get there. I have ridden in a ride for a good cause, been to a professional soccer game, and witnessed history with Obama's nomination. I have been to a couple of shows, looked for jobs, watched Contador win the Giro, and most important of all watched the Red Wings win another cup. God I love this team. It has been a good week, no a Great week. Now i just need a job. The search continues.

Snapped Chain results in broken dream

In stage 5 of the Giro d'Italia today, David Miller of team Slipstream Chipotle snapped his chain under 3 km from the finish line, all but giving the win to Tinkoff Credit Systems' Pavel Brutt the win. In other news, the flying Mustache (David Zabriskie) is back State side to recover from crash in the opening stages of the Giro. Don't know if he will be back to form by Tour time. Good luck to him with his recovery though.
Ride on!

Saturday, May 10, 2008

So tonight we took a stroll across the bridge. The other side, the dark side, proved to be quite the competitor. Chazy suffered a rear flat about 2 miles in. After walking to a gas station to fill the new tube, we continued on to the "Silver Dollar" bar to take in a little Fuzz and the Guns.
After listening to Fuzz throw out some tasty licks, we saddled up. At this point, Chazy notice that his front tire was flat now. Since he replaced his back tube earlier, I gave him my backup tube for his front tire. We, the four of us, walked down the alley to the nearest gas station and Chazy proceeded to replace the punctured tube. Back on the road, we did not make it but a mile before Chazy got another flat. Three in the same night! What the Fuck! Out of tubes, he was forced to either walk or call for a ride. He pulled out the telecom and pushed some buttons. We left him to continue on. Due to a heavy head wind and some sleet, the remaining troops made some must needed PBR stops until eventually we parted ways (north or south). It was a good Friday night.

ROCK!

A Day Late.......A Dollar ShortAnd thus it was on......

Getting ready to mount up outside Barry's Bikes. First stop was the Main Bar. Then was the rail hop towards the old "Sandbar" (R.I.P.). From there we crossed the mighty Missouri, which resulted in this.............

One last stop after this, one last PBR, and then the lone trail home.......

It was a kick-ass Thursday night ride.

Work Sucked on Friday though!

There ya have it...........................

PBR me ASAP!

Breaking News!

I knew I liked this guy.

Lord Stanley's Cup

With a demanding win over the "South Stars" the Wings are well on there way to getting their names etched onto Lord Stanley's Cup. The names will live on in history etched onto rings that withstand the end of time. What will your name do?

Petro

As I was walking into work this morning (I work in a High School), I overheard several students complaining about the cost of gas and how long they will make it before they get paid. One students solution was to ask his parents for money to fill his tank. I could not help but chuckle and think of when they will get it. Not that I am THAT MUCH older than them, but when are they going to get the fact that if we stay dependent it will only get worse. The school I work at has made efforts to go green with better recycling efforts, but lack of commuting focus. Getting dizzy just thinking about it...............................Gotta run.....................................Bell is about to ring.

SWEEP!

If i told you that i did not thoroughly enjoy the routing of the Colorado Avalanche, then i would definitely be lying. Can you say, SWEEP? Yeah, for the first time in the history of Wings vs. Avs heated rivalry there has been a sweep in the playoffs. It came as a result of the 8-2 schlacking of the Avs, and i loved every second of it. At this point it looks like Dallas will be the next victim to fall to the Wings on the path Lord Stanley's Cup. The true Holy Grail.

Junior Mints

Who's gonna turn down a junior mint? It's chocolate, it's peppermint, it's delicious!

Well do ya, PUNK?

So, I went out for a ride after work yesterday. A little over 1 km into the ride, some a**hole in a ugly-a** seafoam green piece of shit ford (contour or taurus) almost hit me. Two full (empty) lanes to use and he comes about 6 inches from my left elbow. But wait, that is not all. Then the prick proceeds to throw his hand up in the air followed by flipping me off. The nerve of that cocksucker to flip me off. I then proceeded to give him the ever popular double bird hoping that he would either stop or turn around so that i could give him a piece of my mind. Needless to say, i was pissed off at that moment. Then about 16 km in my seat adjusted itself. To my amusement, i forgot to replace my multitool and ended up riding the following 16 km home either standing or sitting in agonizing pain. 70 degrees with slight breeze out of the SW and clear skies. Could not ask for a better day to have a shitty ride. After reflecting on this ride, I remembered something that Bryce (an ex-military soldier that contracted meningitis overseas while on duty) told me after i turned him down for a ride home from the bar, "You're so lucky". Just thinking about that made me smile and think, "I am one lucky f**ker!"
